You Can't Teach This Stuff

I'm taking a break from the usual Ten on Tuesday today.  I wanted to post some videos of Cole.

We started him in t-ball and soccer last year, but he did not take to either of those sports.  (Read: he HATED them.)  So, this summer we took a break from organzied sports to let him just be a 4 year-old kid. We also started thinking that perhaps he would not have the hand-eye coordination and natural athlethic ability of his dad, but...

a couple of weeks ago, he asked us for a basketball. Mike brought one home and this is what we saw:

Pretty good for his age, right? The dribble, not the counting.  Peggy has a basketball hoop at her house that is just the right size for him and we found out last weekened that the kid can shoot baskets, too.

I'm playing tennis again. I played in junior high and was on varsity in high school, but it has been years since I played regularly.  And I'm not that good. My varsity squad in high school was just that bad.  Anyway, I got my racket out on Sunday night and Cole said he wanted to try. This was his first swing... (Don't mind the pajama pants that are 2 sizes too big, but he insists on wearing every night.)

I think I've found my new doubles partner!
