Ten on Tuesday

This is a random bunch  of questions this week.  A special Happy Birthday to Hooker today (aka Katy). Don't worry - she likes that I call her that.

1. How do you pronounce the word aunt? Does your pronunciation rhyme with ‘haunt’ or ‘can’t'?

Can't. This is Texas - who the heck says it like "haunt?"

2. Do most of the people in your life know you blog? Or are you partially or totally anonymous?

I think my family and close friends know.  I really do this because it is a good way to keep family updated with pictures of the boys. I like to record the stories because (1) I could not make them up if I wanted to, and (2) I don't want to forget them! I answer Ten on Tuesday  because... well, because I usually don't have anything else to say on Tuesdays.

3. When you grocery shop, do you prefer to bag your own groceries or do you like it when the store bags them for you? Paper, plastic, or reusable bags?

Oh, the answer to this question would be totally different if I had an option to shop anywhere but Wally World. In a town this small, my options are these: Wal-Mart, they bag, I carry out, and plastic. 

4. Do you have a green thumb?

Not at all, and I don't really enjoy working in the yard. When I was growing up my parents made us work in the yard on Saturdays in the Spring and Summer. I hated it, and I swore I would not work in the yard when I "grew up" if I could  help it. Mike does a lot of ours, and we have some guys that mow 'the back 40.' I keep the potted plants and flowers watered.

5. If you watch the Food Network, which chef/show host is your favorite?

I like watching Food Network. My favorite chefs are probably Paula Deen and Guy Fieri, but if I actually cooked their recipes, I'd be the size I was 5 months ago (think: 9 months pregnant - not pretty).

6. Do you like to take baths? Do you take them very often?

No, I'm a shower fan. Get in, get out, and get on with it!

7. What color are the walls in your kitchen?

Well, we have one brick wall with floor to ceiling windows, the rest of the walls are covered with cabinets that are hand-painted a turquoise color. Copper back splash over a light granite, and the only wall (behind the fridge) that is actually painted is cream.  This beautiful kitchen and the house that it is attached to are for sale, so all of this could be yours!

8. Do you prefer to dine outdoors or indoors?

Outdoors, unless it's May through August in East Texas. This humidity is a killer.

9. Describe your ideal weather.

Fall and spring in Lubbock where the temps are in the 80s-90s for highs and 50s-60s for lows with NO HUMIDITY. Boy, I miss that town. By the way, 80 days till football season for the Red Raiders. GO TECH!

10. If you could learn any foreign language, which would you choose to learn?

Spanish, because classes in elementary and high school, and a summer in Guanajuato, Mexico during law school (with the aforementioned Hooker) only taught me "una mas cervaza, por favor."
