Today is Father's Day, and I first want to say that I am blessed beyond compare with (1) a wonderful husband who is an amazing father to our boys, (2) a great dad who is nothing but supportive of me, (3) a step-father who is a grandfather to my boys that most kids only dream of, and (4) a father-in-law who has super strength. I also very dearly miss my two grandfathers and my Uncle Lee, all three men in my life who inspired me.
Speaking of my FIL, John, he has Alzheimer's and is now in an assisted living facility for people with memory disorders. Mike has been back and forth to Central Texas a lot over the past few weeks to help his mom and dad with this transition. As if the transition alone wasn't enough, my in-laws' house recently flooded. What a nightmare - thank goodness they had insurance.
This weekend, Mike's brother, Clay, his wife Sabina, and precious identical twins Grace & Kasia, flew in from Denver. We drove and met them, and then had lunch on Sunday with John at the facility where he is living.
The entire family! (Tate was cat-napping.)

You think breakfast was good? :)
During lunch at the home, I struck up a conversation with a sweet older lady named Genevieve. Despite her memory loss, she is still fluent in French and English. She was asking me about the boys, and saying that Cole was "magnificent" when he was playing with a balloon.
Then she said something in French and I didn't understand her. I asked her to please tell me in English what she said....
"Look at that sweet baby. AND LOOK AT HIS THIGHS!"
Sweet Tate. Those thunder thighs come from Mom, and there is nothing wrong with them!
