The past couple of weeks have been CRAZY, but there is more where that came from! We have coming up: girls' weekend shopping trip in Dallas; a company Christmas party; another Christmas party; a Christmas lunch; a company dinner; a piano performance at an assisted living facility; a Christmas choir concert; a Christmas Around the World project and party; and a PK-3 Christmas party. Oh, and I have an appellate brief and two huge Motions for Summary Judgment due at work. And that just get us to the weekend of the 19th....
To recap the few days since Thanksgiving, we jaunted off to Dallas for the Tech-Baylor game
This is the second year in a row we've been able to go to the game at AT&T Cowboys Stadium with the Westbrooks, and this year did not disappoint! Wreck 'em, Tech!
I would not normally be so happy about a loss, but Tech played a GREAT game and we had a blast! We also got to get in a visit with our friends, Mike and Ali (Mike S. and Mike M. used to work together and we went to law school with Mike M.) Next year, we'll be buying the tickets -- on the scarlet and black side! [I will say the BU fans were so nice, which is more than I can say for the Horned Frog fans this year, other than my cute hubby, of course! ;)]
We hurried home on Sunday in time for me to throw up some Christmas decorations. We aren't going all out this year, but we did get a huge live tree and the boys had fun helping me hang ornaments.
And I am LOVING listening to Cole-Man practice his Christmas carols. I am biased, but I really think he is a gifted pianist. He is only 8! [Total Mom bragging moment.]
Despite the holiday rush, I took a minute this week to just be thankful. I pulled this out of Cole's backpack this week and my heart melted.
THAT is what it is all about.
[Well, that and teaching him the difference between a verb and a possessive pronoun. ;)]
Merry Christmas from us! May we all take time to be thankful for blessings such as these
