Santa Went Live

Live animal, that is...

Introducing, Ruby the Chesapeake Bay Retriever (Chessie)

Santa had to bring her early (Tuesday night) because she was scared to ride on the sleigh with the reindeer on Christmas night.
Someone was IN LOVE right away.

Someone else, not so much.

Actually, Barley has done well with the new puppy.  She basically ignores her and hasn't seemed jealous.  Sweet Barley is sleeping a lot of the time now, but she was still wagging her tail during all of the Christmas excitement.  Ruby has been a great addition to the family.  She has so far been sleeping through the nights -- something I didn't expect -- and she loves playing with the boys and her toys.  We're working on potty training ;)

Peggy came for a quick visit, but we were so glad to have her here to celebrate. And jump on the trampoline.  And jump. And jump. And jump.  The boys didn't give her much of a break - ha!

Merriest of Christmases from the entire family!

After candlelight service at church, the boys scarfed down dinner and were ready to open gifts.  So was Ruby.

I had to get a shot of the four gift bags Mike used to wrap his gifts to the boys and me.  Merry Christmas/Happy Birthday/Congrats on the New Baby ;)

We went in with Clay and Sabina to get Peggy a special gift this year: a necklace with John's signature.  I think she liked it.

The boys set out milk and cookies for Santa (who had promised to come back on Christmas to fill stockings and check on Ruby).  How many more years do you think they will go for the matching pajama bit?!?

Christmas morning came early, complete with a BoomCo Rapid Madness blaster gun and Nintendo 3DS game for Cole,

an Imaginext Supernova Battle Rover and a fever for Tate. :/

I guess someone has to keep up the tradition of being sick on Christmas morning.  It was usually me growing up.

He perked up after some medication, and the boys are playing with the new puppy and toys.  This year more than ever, I am the most thankful for my happy and HEALTHY family.  Big hugs to all of you!
