May Mid-Week Musings

I do not have anything particularly exciting to report, but thought I would share a few pictures from the last week or so. Because I know all 7 of my faithful readers are curious. Ha.

Cole-man has just a few days of school left, and they are starting to bring home their completed workbooks, class work, and end-of-the-year projects.  He came home with this in his backpack yesterday to make this mama with a Finance degree happy :)

We are all ready for summer.  We've been practicing baseball in the evenings when we don't have games.

And I don't mean just Cole:

(Excuse the orange and black basketball shirt with the red and black Tech shorts - Little Man Tate dressed himself - Lord, help me!)

We entertained two of the Westbrook boys last Saturday while their family moved into their new home.  We took the boys to the Wildlife Museum in Tyler, to eat at Newk's, and then for frozen yogurt. After we got them all sugar-loaded, we dropped them back off with Brad and Destiny ;)  Four boys for four hours wore me out. I'm not sure how my friends do it EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Finally, I thought I would share photos of our teacher gifts for Cole's teacher and the aide in his room.  I thought long and hard about this one, trying to be creative but also give something useful.  I have given his teachers a lot of gift cards so I wanted to do something a little different for the end of the year gift. The verdict: cute kitchen paring knives with matching small cutting boards.  I also added a gift card (I know, but they are really the most useful!) to FRESH (Tyler's version of Central Market/Whole Foods) for Mrs. Smith.

I think they turned out super cute.  I downloaded the fill-able labels from a site I found on Pinterest.  Tate's teacher and the director of his school will receive their gifts next week at his end of school party.  I got them each a set of monogrammed burlap cosmetic pouches from Ballard Designs -- click here

Cole's end of the year awards ceremony, class party, and zoo trip are tomorrow.  Look for pictures of my monkey to come! (See what I did there...) :)
