Gifts

Nothing major this week, other than the usual baseball practice, homework, 20 VERY difficult spelling words, work, laundry, a travelling husband, a doctor's appointment for Cole... you get my drift.   But, I wanted to share some photos of late.

This is the BH First Grade.  Both classes have been collecting small toys, art supplies, knickknacks, etc. to help fill the  Prize Closet at Dallas Children's Hospital, where Jett and hundreds of other kids receive treatment for cancer.

I really think the best gift you can give yourself is to give to others in need, especially children.  I am very proud of what BH teaches these kids and they did an amazing job in their service project this year.  Jett will be hand-delivering the items at his next check-up later this month.  (By the way, he is two over from Cole to the right, has his hair back after the chemo and is doing amazing!)

This week is also teacher appreciation week.  Yesterday, we gave Cole's teacher, the aide in his class, and Tate's teacher gift cards to Starbucks. Cole also wrote a note to each of his teachers to include with the gift card. We LOVE Mrs. Smith, and are grateful Cole is in her class.  She is the best teacher. Or the BAST, as we say in East Texas ;) She liked the note so much she took a picture and sent it to me to say thanks! So sweet.

As my treat to the boys last week, we stopped for Sno Cones JUST BECAUSE! Cole had watermelon, Tate had blue raspberry, and I was being good to not eat sugar but I really wanted the organic raspberry rose.  I think we might all have to stop again today JUST BECAUSE. ;)

Finally, a photo of the boys from Monday in over-sized rain boots about to go exploring for frogs.   They are my greatest gifts.  [Stop rolling your eyes, I know it's CHEESY, but really they are!] High five, boys!
