Bring on Summer 2014

We started off summer with a bang! Mike was actually off this year on Memorial Day so we headed down to visit the Leevers for the 3-day weekend.

We first hit up the pools:
Big Cousin Cole and Baby Cousin Tyler
Cole is obsessed with Tyler. He loved dancing and making silly faces to get Tyler to laugh, wanted to hold him, and was worried about whether Kayla had enough teething toys on hand at all times :)

The Middle Munchkins: Sawyer & Tate

I was happy to get in some Jeep-ing with the little brother, and to spend this Memorial Day with one of my favorite veterans!

Fun Uncle Hunter took Mike and Cole kayaking while Kayla and I stayed home with the younger 3 boys during nap time.

How cute are they?! Mike and Cole were in a 2-person kayak.  It was a lot of work and Mike said Cole tired out toward the end. Mike said to him, "Let's finish strong!" Cole's response: "Well, I'm going to finish weak." They did have a great time, and look at this awesome shot -->

On Sunday, we headed to the beach on West Galveston Island.  It was an EPIC FAIL.  The surf and beach were overrun with seaweed.  We couldn't even get in the water because there was 4 feet of seaweed at the shore edge, and no typical beachy sand into the water.

We tried to make the best of it. For about an hour.

The boys dug around in the sand,

we watched the waves further out and counted seagulls,

and then we packed up, headed to eat some fresh seafood for lunch, and went back to the pools in Sugar Land!

Tyler is the happiest and easiest baby EVER.

So, so precious.  I heard him cry once in 36 hours and that wasn't even after being "hugged" on by the three older rough & tumble boys ~ SWEET, sweet boy.

Importantly, we want to pay homage to all of the men and women who serve and have served our country, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We try to teach our children and nephews that they can enjoy the pools, the beaches, and each other BECAUSE of the brave soldiers who protect our freedom.

On the same note, tomorrow is election day in our county, and our friend Kelley has an important run-off bid to remain the County Court at Law Judge. GO VOTE!

We love our family and can't wait to see them again.
