What do you want to be when you grow up - I want to work for Taco Bell in an office, like my dad. No, I want to mow people's yards. No, I want to be a lawyer. No, I want to teach kids how to dive and swim. No, I want to study sharks. No, I want to be in the Army. ...We'll go with "undecided."

Mrs. Smith is new to Brook Hill this year though she is a seasoned First Grade teacher. We met her yesterday and LOVE her already. Cole said, "Mom, she is nice. And she is pretty." Yes, Cole said that. SHUT.THE.FRONT.DOOR. ;) She IS nice and she IS pretty and she DOES have on cute Tory Burch sandals. Plus, she raised three boys of her own, and we are glad for that.
We had a little something for Mrs. Smith at Meet the Teacher yesterday to soften her up a little -- kidding. Sort of. A Sonic gift card for a little treat after school. It's the least she deserves! We have one for Tate's new teacher, too (he starts in a new class on Monday).

Cole's friend Breckin will be in his class as well as friends CJ and Jett. He was very excited about that. He also has his own desk for the first time at school, which he loved.
Unfortunately, he has a cold and he woke up with a terrible cough. Poor kid - being sick is not the best way to start your first day of school. :/
I had a surprise breakfast complete with streamers and eggs (yes, that's how nice of a mom I am -- cooking those nasty things for my babies!), but you can definitely tell in this photo that C-man doesn't feel good.
He was mortified that I was trying to take pictures inside the school. I was using my camera phone and didn't even have my big camera! I was only able to get this shot from behind of him walking down the hall. Meanwhile, all the cute little girls were happily posing for their moms.
He will continue piano and will also take private golf lessons this fall. Looking forward to a great FIRST grade year with our great FIRST-born. :)
