It has been a while since my last post. Mike's was so funny that I had to leave it up for a while, and truth be told, last week was stressful and hectic and I didn't have anything worth posting. But now I'm back, and in case you've been wondering what has been going on in Casa de Stansberry...
This little nugget was sick with a virus last week. When he was feeling better, I took him to my hairstylist, Lindsey, to tame that mane.
Want to see pictures of his first "real" haircut? Too bad. He screamed, cried, and kicked the entire time, while I held him down. It was worse than shots at the doctor. So, she was able to take a little off the top, but alas the "First Haircut" page in his baby book will have no pictures.
Thursday night, Nick and darling Kate came over to play and eat spaghetti while Kelley was out of town. When it was time for them to go, I picked up Kate to hug her. She held on to me tight, put her head on my shoulder, looked up at her dad with those big blue eyes and pigtails, batted her long eyelashes, and said, "Can't we just stay a little while longer, Daddy?"
So of course they stayed. Good luck when she asks for a new car, Nick.
Saturday morning we went to Dallas for a dinner party with my firm. It was the most pleasant least miserable road trip since we've had Tate. He actually fell asleep in the car...
for 20 minutes. But that 20 minutes was awesome, and quiet. Well, except for constant Angy Bird sound effects made by Cole.
Baca met us in Dallas to keep the boys while we went to the party. We met her and some of her friends at the mall in Frisco and she and Cole got to ride the carousel. Cole picked the gray horse (his favorite color), and they had a good time.
Although Mike wasn't thrilled about going to my firm party, I pointed out to him that it could be worse. We were the ONLY guests at the hotel who were not involved with a dancing/pageant competition. So, while I forced him to sit through a murder mystery party with people I work (remotely) with, at least we had good food, free drinks and weren't sitting through a tween dancing competition.
Love it.
