We had a great weekend -- at HOME for once! We enjoyed some fish tacos and music on the back patio on Friday night, BBQ ribs with friends on Saturday, and a lazy Sunday. We spent a lot of time outdoors. Apparently that is because we have lost our minds. It is 104 with 85% humidity. I *love* East Texas in late July.
Sadly, Max & Meat went to meet their maker. But do not worry: 15 new bugs, including 3 frogs, have taken their place, thanks to the collecting efforts of Von and Cole.
Despite the pleading, whining, and outright crying of Cole, the bugs were not allowed to "sleep" inside the house.
I didn't take my camera out on Saturday, so I have no pictures of Von, Cole, Kate, Mary Grace, and Tate splashing in the kiddie pool and sliding on the Slip N Slide down the hill in our back yard. But you should visualize it - it was pretty darn cute.
Sunday, Cole dressed himself. Tate is either thinking, "Am I actually related to this color-blind maniac?!" or "Nice choice, Cole-man: GO TECH!"
Tate sweats. A lot. Don't judge. Fat babies need love, too.
A little sprinkler cooled him right off, and he loved it.
While I was distracted with taking photos of The Baby picking and trying to eat blades of grass, The Older Brother was climbing trees.
As cute as that is, here he is after we yelled at him to GET OUT OF THE PRECIOUS JAPANESE MAPLE!!!!!
