This week's Ten on Tuesday is all about summer. BRING IT ON!

1. From your childhood, what do you miss most about summer vacation?Actually having a summer vacation. And LLYC, of course.

 

2. Are you going anywhere on vacation this summer?We just got back from Lake Travis, which was a blast. We are also going to the beach in July with family to celebrate my brother's homecoming from his tour in Afghanistan.  I cannot wait!

 

3. What foods do you like to barbecue?Personally, I don't like to barbeque anything, despite the fact that I love to cook. As Mike would say, "that's not in my wheelhouse."  I do, however, like to eat most anything from the BBQ: steak, turkey, chicken, quail, sausage, ribs, my dad's grilled pizza, vegetables.  We were actually discussing good Texas BBQ this weekend. Although The Salt Lick is probably the most famous, I'm a bigger fan of Kreuz's in Lockhart and Cooper's in Llano.  And Stacy's in Jacksonville has the best chopped beef sandwiches.

 

4. How do you celebrate the fourth of July?

The Fourth is my Dad's birthday, so I've spent a lot of years celebrating with him. We've spent the last few years at Lake Granbury with the Whytlaws.  The first year we went, Cole burned his foot on an ember from a sparkler. He has been deathly afraid of fireworks ever since.  Parents of the Year right here.

5. What’s your favorite beverage to drink in the summertime?My favorite beverage anytime is a nice crisp Chardonnay. 

6. What movie are you looking forward to seeing this summer?HELLOOOO!! Cars 2 in 3D with my favorite 4 year-old.   I actually don't watch many movies, but taking Cole to the theater is fun because he loves it.

 

7. In the car: windows down or AC?AC, unless Tate is crying. Then windows down because it soothes him.  We rode with the windows down a lot on our road trip to Austin this past weekend.

 

8. Have you ever had a summer fling?Hmmm, not that I recall.

 

9. Do you wear sunscreen?Yes, SPF 30 on my face everyday. Not on the rest of me unless I am going to be out for hours. Benefit of olive skin.
