So we had a very interesting Monday night. I woke up with Tate about 1:30 and then went back to bed just before 2:00. About 5 minutes after that, we awoke to a LOUD crashing sound. Mike jumped out of bed and screamed, "LINDSAY!!" because he thought it was me falling down the stairs. I sat up and told him I was in bed. Right next to him.
Barley was beside me. I jumped up to get Cole, who had also climbed out of bed. Tate was still blissfully snoozing in his crib.
Mike ran downstairs (we are sleeping upstairs in the guest room to be closer to the nursery because we moved Tate to his crib a couple of weeks ago) in his boxers and all of his glory. He searched the house. Meanwhile, I moved both boys in bed with me. Mike came back up and we both agreed that it sounded distinctly like something falling down the stairs. Since we took the carpet off the stairs, Barley often loses her grip on the hard wood and kind of tumbles down the stairs. But it wasn't Barley because she had been beside me in the guest room.
So, he called 9-1-1. Two officers came, searched the house, found nothing and left. All 4 of us were there in the queen-size bed, Cole asking what the loud noise was, Mike and I feeling freaked out, and Tate snoring.
A couple of hours later, Cole woke up to use the restroom and Mike walked with him down the hall and found... the culprit:
Yes, that is the boys' frog bath toy organizer that had fallen off the bathtub wall and crashed into the bathtub, spilling toys and bath soap. Glad we called Jacksonville's finest out here at 2:30 am for that. You never know what knife-wielding bath toy might jump out to get you....
I'm laughing b/c the exact same thing happened to us (except for calling 911) twice but I still keep putting back on the wall?!?!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. That is CRAZY funny!!
ReplyDeleteha! it's a good thing you have a sense of humor! And no, that frog thing doesn't stay on anyone's wall ... Ours is stuffed under the sink and the toys are just all over the bath all the time. Easier to not clean up.
