A Birthday and a Plan Z

Happy, happy 8th birthday to Cole-Man!

He spent a long weekend on the third annual Leever-Stansberry men fishing trip to Lake Powell with Mike and grandpa Johnny.

And Johnny's new puppy, Boomer :)

Dad even had a birthday cake for him and they celebrated on the banks of the lake on Friday night.

They had a great time, caught some fish, and.... had to be towed to the marina when the boat broke down.  They made the best of it and spent the final night of the trip in Flagstaff, AZ.

I cannot believe how fast the past eight years have gone. They are on their way home now, and I can't wait to hug his little neck. I have not seen Mike in a week and Cole since Wednesday.  I miss my men!

While they were away, Tate and I had a weekend trip planned to San Marcos and Austin.  Peggy volunteered to watch Tate while I met Katy and Kristi for a girls' weekend of shopping and eating in north Austin.  Until.... Tate decided to cut his own hair on the way out the door. We had to make a side trip to the barber shop to get it shaved. I could have died!!

And then... Kristi got really sick and had to cancel her plans to come up from Houston.
Katy and I made a plan B, and I stayed one night in San Marcos and one night in Austin.

Peggy and Tate made cookies, and she took him to the snake farm in New Braunfuls and the car museum in San Marcos.  Katy took me to lots of cute and fun Austin boutiques and a wine bar ;)

And I got in some unplanned time with Chris

and these two knuckleheads, too! YEA!!

Our Plan B, or Plan Z as I like to say because NONE of our original plans have worked out lately, ended up fun.

Happy birthday to our fun, smart, vivacious Cole. May you learn patience, kindness, respect, and how to roll with the flow when things don't go as planned!
