How many Christmas parties can you fit into one day? Too many for this tired mama!
First up, Tate's class party at school with a surprise visit from Santa Claus:
Tate was not sure what to think of SC (who happened to be MRS. Claus in Santa's suit?!), until I told him he could ask Santa to bring him a new ball. Then he hopped right on up in Santa's lap... :)
Tate with his teacher, Ms. Amanda:
Next up, Cole's class party, which Destiny and I were completely in charge of. "In charge" might be a stretch because by the end of the party the girls were dancing around and the boys were all wrestling. I think the kids were the ones actually in charge. There is a reason I went to law school...!
The desks were each decorated and reindeer snack bags, water bottles, and cookies were placed at each seat. Unfortunately, the cheese balls greased through the lunch sacks. BOOOO. Live and learn.. to put the greasy snacks in plastic baggies before putting them in thin paper sacks. Pinterest did not tell me that.
Katherine's mom read some stories to the kids and as you can see, they were allowed to wear their pajamas all day yesterday.
Cole and Breckin goofing off
The kids made ornaments for their Christmas trees
and then we played a human Christmas tree relay game! The kids were divided into four teams and they had to wrap green crepe paper around one student, tape on ornaments and a star, and finish the tree off with a red Rudolph nose.
The kids LOVED this... although Cole wasn't too sure about two girls wrapping him up ;)
The winning team: Jonathan, Breckin, Emma, and CJ
Cole's friend, Jett, was the tree on another team
At least it kept Cole still for three minutes!
Next up, we rushed home, changed into [short sleeve because it was 75 degrees] shirts, and headed over to the Dawsons for a surprise visit from Santa.
The boys look like they are hugging Mr. Claus in this picture, but they were all skeptical and trying to pull off his beard...
We had to bribe them to get a group shot.
Natalie had gingerbread men cookies for the kids girls & Tate to decorate while the big boys played tackle basketball on the trampoline. Yes, welcome to my life.
Nat helped Tate a little with the smile and green shoes, but he did a good job with the icing and sprinkles and eyes all by himself
And he was proud!
We had a great time, but I was worn out. Tate woke up in the night running fever AGAIN. Welcome to my life, except I don't like that part. At least he got in a couple of parties between illnesses. :/
Merry Christmas to everyone!
