That's right - it is time for Easter parties. My kids totally *need* to be [even more] hyped up on sugar-laden candy-filled eggs.
First up was Tate's party and Easter egg hunt. Yes, even the infant classes have parties now. I actually skipped out on this one because (1) Tate would have loved to see me during the day, but would have screamed when I left him in the nursery for the second time in one day, (2) Cole's party was starting just as Tate's would have been over, and (3) I actually have a job and needed to work at some point in the day.
I'm sure he looked cute and his teacher confirmed that he was in fact hurling the eggs like baseballs. The kid does have a good arm.
I made it to Cole-man's party, which was fun. The class hunted eggs and then had cupcakes and brownies. I know the teachers must just think it is great to send the kids home early with 20 candy-filled eggs. I'm pretty sure the Easter Bunny himself isn't leaving 20 eggs each for my kids.
They also let their class butterflies go into nature from their butterfly habitat. The kids saw these butterflies grow from caterpillars. The girls were crying. The boys were trying to chase down and catch the butterflies. :)
The caterpillar that Cole took to school on Wednesday has completed its chrysalis and Mrs. B let him take it around to show his fellow students today.
We're looking forward to celebrating the holiday with family.
Happy Easter!
