Fuzzles

Today is dress-up (i.e. chapel) day for Cole at school.  He usually dresses himself, but I was helping him this morning with his socks, belt, and tie. When I put on his first dress sock he said, "I don't like these socks. They have fuzzles in them and they get between my toes. Then I have to take the socks off and pull out the fuzzles."   Our 5 year old just created a new word that describes perfectly the sock lint that gets stuck between your toes!  Don't you just hate fuzzles?! :)

This is a picture of Cole this morning, in his fuzzly socks and all, with a live caterpillar and a dead, but almost completely intact, Monarch butterfly

His class is studying insects this month. They have a butterfly habitat, a lady bug land, and a roly-poly playground in their classroom.  We were out looking for some roly polys last night and found this caterpillar. Cole put it in his bug box and when we woke up this morning, we found it up at the top spinning its cocoon.  HOW COOL?!  He's taking it to share with the class today.

I e-mailed his teacher last night about the caterpillar and the butterfly that we picked off the grill of Mike's truck found, and she was so excited. The kids are going to examine a  luna moth that Mrs. B found and this butterfly under a microscope today.  In a Pre-K class. I love his teacher!

This is a picture of the boys sharing a bag of popcorn on the back step last night watching the storms roll in before bed time.  Little nuggets.
