This has to be officially the best and the worst summer for Cole-Man. Two ear infections, a root canal, and Athlete's Foot started off his June. But... since then he's visited Sea World, and today started what I hope will be a long journey as a summer camper!
Pine Cove-Towers Camp bound with Braxton and Von
Now, I'm a little extremely partial to LLYC in Leakey, Texas, but Cole isn't old enough to attend just yet. Pine Cove is an awesome camp closer to us with one-week sessions, and that is a perfect start to his camping experience.
Standing up through the sun roof of Mike's truck on the drive into camp
His new home for the next 6 nights - Phoenix 2 Cabin
Showing off his bunk with cabin-mate Braxton (and Daylee Grace)
[Cole didn't like the photos of all of his friends and family when I made them at home, but once we got to camp he made sure I taped ALL of them up around his bunk! He was the only kid in the cabin of 8 with photos, and I think they made him feel special.]
We met several of his bunkmates, including a boy all the way from Baton Rouge, LA, two boys named Will, and another son of a Red Raider! Guns up, boys!
Tate was tired and hot because drop-off was during his usual nap time, and he was also super upset that he didn't get to stay at camp, too!
But he cheered right up after a nap in the car on the ride home and dip in the pool! :)
We ended up having some friends over yesterday for an impromptu swimming "party" with dads and kids (plus me as the den mom for the afternoon - ha!)
Gabriella, DG, Jett, Brantley, Cole, Braxton, Tate, Saige, and Breckin
The decking around the pool was finished on Friday and, with the exception of landscaping, we are D.O.N.E. with pool construction!
Best decision ever!
And I hope Cole truly has the Best 6 of his 365 this week at Pine Cove!
