Every Week [Updated]

This has been a typical [READ: CRAZY BUSY] week.  I told Mike on Sunday that this week was going to be super busy.  His response? "You say that every week!"  It is true.

We came home from the Hill Country and Cole's eyes exploded... red, swollen, itchy, watery, and just in time for achievement testing this week at school. :(  We thought it was pink eye, so we started him on antibiotic drops, but those did nothing.  I have had to pick him up every day this week from school early after his testing because he is miserable.  We went back to the doctor on Wednesday and she said she thought it was an acute allergic reaction, so we switched to steroid drops and oral antihistamines.  They still look awful, so we'll be back to the doctor on Monday.

Despite all of this, Cole has been a trooper.  He even played (catcher and left outfielder) in his baseball game on Thursday night and, according to the coach, SMACKED three hits all into the outfield.  We played a really good team, but WON! Go Irish! Go Cole! We are currently in second place in the Division.

Mike and I had to miss the game because we went to a formal dinner at the Brook Hill founder's new home as part of a fundraising campaign for the Brook Hill Fund, which we proudly support because it pays tuition for students who would not normally be able to attend BH.

Date night! On a Thursday, with 160 other people, overcooked steak, and no wine.  But a date night nonetheless :)  This photo is not flattering of me, but it is the only one I've got, and  I have a good-looking hubby by my side!

Mike's babysitter from San Marcos (when he was about 7) is now the Director of Development at BH. I've met her before, but she saw Mike for the first time last night since ~1985.  I swear she almost cried- it was so fun to see her and let them catch up.  SUCH a small world, and we just love these connections and our Brook Hill family.

Cole's awesome baseball coach watched him at the game and then brought him home for us.  This little nugget had fun with a sitter.

This weekend we have a million birthday parties, Relay for Life cancer walk-a-thon, and yard work waiting for us. I need a nap already.
