Well, after MUCH anticipation, Tate's birthday party day arrived! It was SNOW fun.
Tate was so excited. He loves any party but he really loves HIS parties. We geared up for a snow-themed third birthday this year, and lucked out with beautiful weather.
The set up: entry table with favor bags and light-up snow man;
a hot cocoa bar, complete with adult-only add-ins (what else other than Kahlua will get you through two hours with 13 sugar-hyped pre-schoolers?!), birthday banner made by Baca, and white snow flakes and branches I created from good finds at Target and Hobby Lobby;
the dining table with the AWESOME cake on center display and big snowflakes dangling from the chandelier;
the food table with white donuts, white cheddar "Snow Balls," mitten and snowflake PB&Js, and snowmen noses and eyes (i.e. carrots and blueberries);
the drink station with lemonade and melted snowman water bottles;
and our amazing baker, Mandy, created this unbelievable two-tier chocolate cake, which Tate was super excited about.
The fun: kids playing in fake snow on our train-table-turned-snow-table with beach toys;
and a snowball fight with fake snowballs I made from panty hose and fiberfill.
L-R: Cole, Breckin, Saige, Andrew, and Tate
Maddie loved the snowballs and the fake snow. She had the fake snow in her hair and her shoes, and everywhere!
Cake Time: Tate's favorite!
He loves hearing everyone sing for him, sweet boy.
Kelley got a great shot of him in our traditional birthday hat. He was not so sure about this year. I know his "Aunt" Katy Andre will appreciate...
Andrew, Jett, Maddie, and Jackson around the table with snacks and cake. This lasted approximately 42 seconds before the kids were up from the table and back outside playing!
Tate likes to open gifts, but we would have still been opening them if I hadn't stepped in and helped opened them for him. Sweet boy wants to play with each one as he opens it and isn't interested in going on the next gifts in any sort of quick fashion.
Super Friends Turner and Andrew. I just can't help myself with all the puns on this post ;)
Tate and Kate having more fun outside playing
The favors: Individual [fake] snow, Polar Bear animal crackers, and chocolate snowmen balls for each of our guests.
Happy Birthday Party Day to an awesome and fun 3-year old! We love you, Tater Mater!
