Sir Cole's Seventh Birthday

Birthday celebration No. 3: An overnight trip to Dallas with three friends and dinner at Medieval Times.  I obviously had lost my mind when I decided to plan this event. ;)

The invites went out...

the party favors were made,

and we geared up for the car ride by purchasing a new movie and lots of Tylenol.

We made it to Dallas, checked in to the hotel, bought more snacks (because the ones I packed for the entire trip there and back were consumed by these boys in the first 15 minutes of the car ride), and opened gifts before heading over to Medieval Times.

Sweet friends Braxton, Breckin, Cole, and Jett

At the Castle: the boys were beyond excited!

It was crowded, loud, and crazy, with mediocre food and expensive junk trinkets. [See that the boys talked us into buying some nonetheless.]  If you know Mike and me, this is not our scene, but the boys LOVED every second of the jousting tournament, horses, knights, loud cheers, King, swords, etc.

The boys did great and were well-behaved.   The best part was hearing Cole tell us it was his favorite birthday.  Hearing from this sweet boy who is batting Leukemia tell us it was "my best night ever" made it ALL the more worthwhile.

Happy Birthday, Cole! Next year... cake and ice cream on the back patio. ;)

  1. Any adult that claims Medieval Times as their "scene" needs a trip to RSH. Just saying. I am so glad the boys loved it!!! And I am going to remind you of this post next year when you are planning a paintball party or something else crazy. I can just see the pinterest page now "Crazy 8"...XOXO
