Cole's school is closed Thursday and Friday this week for parent-teacher conferences. Our conference is on Friday so we decided to take this day off to have some Fall fun with friends. First up... The Jacksonville Scarecrow Trail.
This was my favorite - the solider scarecrow!
We have been planning this for about a week and the boys were so excited. When we pulled up, so did 7 buses of kids from JISD. 7 buses = a million kids. Needless to say, we rushed through the Trail quickly and the kids were not stopping to pose for any photos.
I am keeping Cole's friend, Drew, because his mom has to work and the Westbrooks met us at the Trail. Here are kids huddling around the gardening scarecrow:
Next up, I made a Nature Scavenger Hunt in our back yard for the three old boys.
They had fun and worked up an appetite. If three First Graders can plow through a bag of grapes, a box of cheese crackers, three Dairy Queen chicken strips meals, three ice cream cones, and a bag of popcorn in less than four hours, I am going to need a loan for groceries when they turn 13!
It is a gorgeous day, and Cole and I also get to meet the sweet new baby sister of one of his classmates, Savannah, when we take her family a meal later this afternoon.
I think Cole enjoyed his day off. Now I need one. ;)
