All Glitter and Joy

Friday was a GOOD day to be a Stansberry kid.  Yesterday marked the end of the last full week of school for Cole for this Kindergarten year.  The school held their all-school awards assembly.  Cole was not selected for an award at that assembly (WHAT were they thinking?! ;)), but Mrs. Campbell handed out awards to all her students once they were back in the class.

Cole's award --> A star for "always having confidence in yourself!"  He said that Mrs. C stated to the class as an example that Cole was not afraid to be independent and did not have to play the same game everyone else was playing if he really wanted to play a different game.  I'm pretty proud that we've helped raise an independent and self-confident child!  May he remember that when the peer pressures of junior high come!!

Cole and I put together small end-of-the-year favors for his Kindergarten classmates.  We have been blessed with a great class and students this year.  These are personalized bookmarks (5 in the pack for each child), and after I took these pictures Cole helped me tie a package of Smarties candies to each one.  He handed them out to the class on Friday.

I actually ordered the bookmarks back in January when Frecklebox had a 1/2 off sale and got each pack of bookmarks for about $1.50 each!

In other news, Cole also made it to Glitter Clip on Friday.  That is the highest honor for conduct that he could earn in Mrs. C's class, and it took him all year (minus 4 days) to do it.  We had made a deal that if he could make it to Glitter Clip, he could get a new Razor scooter.

We of course went to Target right after the bell rang on Friday and he took it out of the box and held it in his lap the entire way home.

And then started scooter races with Tate as soon as we arrived at the house.

We also enjoyed the [very muggy] evening and jumped on the trampoline,

played with sidewalk chalk

and played in the bed of Dad's truck!

P.S. Cole also made an appearance in a photo in the Brook Hill weekly newsletter that came out yesterday.  Check it out here.
