The Best Idea Ever

Happy, happy, happy Easter!

Our Easter Eve started with Cole losing his first top tooth.  So what do you think the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny said to each other at our house that night? :)

Apparently it was to spoil Cole-man.  $5 for that tooth, and a lot of candy...   to make more teeth fall out, perhaps?  I think its a conspiracy.

These were the boys' baskets and goodies from Mike and me.  New personalized placemats for each, plus a Mickey Mouse toy and movie for Tate, a new book for Tate, and an Army pilot and jet plane toy for Cole.

Then they were OFF to hunt for eggs from the Easter Bunny

Tate was good - he only threw a couple of the eggs like they were footballs.  The majority made it right into the pail :)

Cole got creative to grab the Golden Egg by using his grabby-arm

We dressed up for Easter Sunday and enjoyed a great service at church. In the dark. During a thunderstorm.  It was actually nice, but the lights in the sanctuary went out and it was POURING outside.

We then scrambled home and put together a pot-luck-type Easter lunch with our closest friends and their families.  We had over 20 people for a Greenburg smoked turkey, Nick Peacock's smoked brisket, Jeremy Harmel's deer sausage, and sides and dessert from everyone.

Marti (Von's step-mom), Christi &Wayne (Kelley' parents), Cynthia (Nat's mom), and Patsy (Von's mom) -- eating in the hallway because everyone else was in the dining room and the plan to eat outside was foiled by the weather

The kids' table: Sidney, Von, Cole, Gracie, Landry

On the stairs: Von, Cole, Bethany, Gracie, DG, Braxton, and Tate

Kids and dads enjoyed a game of wiffle ball after the plates, and the rain, cleared.

Lunch at home was the best idea in a long time: so much better than trying to eat out. The kids could run and burn off the sugar-rush from the morning egg hunts, we had WAY better food than at any restaurant around here, the best company (if we can't be with our own family), and all the mimosas you could drink.

A very special thanks to Kelley for leaving a sick Kate at home to come take our family pictures and to everyone who came to lunch for helping make this a memorable and awesome Easter celebration.
Love. Love. Love.
