Paradise. For a 5-year old.

We took a short (but still miserable car ride for Tate) trip to Grapevine this weekend.  We picked up Cole after his week with Baca and headed to meet the Westbrooks at Legoland.  We thought a weekend in a mini theme park with 5 kids 5 and under would be fun.  Apparently we have all lost our minds.

I didn't get too many pictures because... SHOCKER... I was chasing a toddler and a 5 year old around a bunch of rides, slides, and attractions filled with choking hazards.

Giant foam Lego building blocks.  I'm not quite sure why Tate wasn't into posing for a picture on this attraction. ;)

Sweet friends (and the Snake Lego Master Ninja Warrior).  The only exit out Legoland is through the Lego store.  I asked for an emergency exit but they did not oblige.  And just like every other sucker parent in the place, we bought toys.

As extra torture, we decided to load up all 5 hoodlums and eat dinner out at the Rainforest Cafe.  The kids actually did great and loved the balloon animals, the light-up cups with their milk for dinner, the life-like gorillas, and the fish tanks.

What better way than to end an awesome day (if you're 1, 3, or 5) than with the Volcano dessert?!  Reagan, do you see how far back Cole is standing from the sparkler on this cake?  ;)

As we were pulling out Cole was begging to go back to Legoland.  When you're 30 and have kids of your own, son.   That's when.

We really did have a blast with friends and the kids loved it, which made it all worthwhile. We ended the weekend with a trip to Bass Pro Shops, a long drive home, and then a swimming birthday party for C-man.  I think we'll all sleep well tonight (it has to be better than sharing a bed with Cole, his blanket, his stuffed cheetah, and a bunch of Legos.)

  1. Looks like "fun!" Seriously, I think Rainforest Cafe might be the one restaurant entertaining enough for toddlers.
