The Leevers/Stansberrys like to rock small, flat ear canals that retain fluid, cause numerous infections, and require surgeries for tubes. Counting the three sets I had, and the two Cole has had so far, Tate's sugery for tubes today makes 6 sets for this family (and that is not counting John Hunter & Kayla's 8+ sets).
Here is Tate last night in his last bath without ear plugs for a while
Pre-surgery this morning
We had to arrive at 7:00 am for the 9:00 am procedure. Tate had not had anything to eat since 7:15 pm the night before. By 8:30 am he was STARVING, so thank goodness they got us back a few minutes early.
The procedure was simple but this little man did not like the anesthesia. He was MAD (think kicking, screaming, hitting, wailing, fighting...) when he woke up and it took us almost two hours to calm him down.
The post-op nurse came in and said, "well, he wins the award...
for the cutest child up here today. He stole the hearts of all the nurses!" We were certain she was going to say for the loudest, crankiest baby. I know he won the award for that, too. He is napping peacefully now, and we're looking forward to an ear infection-free summer!
Bless Tate's heart! So happy he has that behind him for now, and hope for no more ear infections! We love you all!
