We've had a pretty relaxing weekend. We didn't have much planned other than to get some errands run, work around the house, and relax. It worked out. Sort of.
It was scorching hot and humid on Thursday, so we went to the pool in the afternoon and then Breckin came over to play and eat a dinner picnic with Cole.
How sweet are these two on a bike ride Thursday evening?! [No worries - helmet rule is in effect for the bike now.] We are really enjoying this time with Cole. We are trading off each evening to ride with him. He and I went for over an hour on Friday evening. He is also really enjoying the independence that a bike brings. He looks so grown up. SOMEONE BRING MY BABY BACK!
While Mike and Cole went biking one evening, Tate and I played with this toy from Mimi and Papa Jim. He loves to build tall towers. He loves to knock them down even more, and with his pitching arm the blocks go flying all the way across the room. And we don't have a small living room!
The heat this week mixed with a front that blew in made for some violent thunder storms on Saturday night. We had planned to have some friends over for drinks on the patio but our plans were quickly spoiled. The gusty wind knocked over this tree in our yard (and this pic is after Mike spent all day cleaning the yard up) and completely uprooted a huge oak at our neighbor's house across the street.
A lot of people lost power, including the Peacocks who ended up coming over to spend the night in air conditioning. We were calmed during the storm playing games with Cole. And then we had a good laugh after our friends came over watching Cole and Kate dance (break dancing and ballet, respectively), and play. And yes, every good break dancer needs swimming goggles for a truly stellar performance. ;)
