All About Me

More like "All About Cole."   This week at school it was "All About Me" week.

First, we made a poster to decorate Cole's cubby at school.  We had all weekend to work on it. Mike was laughing because he said this was "right up my alley," and of course, the 4 1/2 year-old boy wanted nothing to do with coloring a poster. So, we compromised. He got to pick pictures out of magazines that he liked and/or went with the answers to the questions on the poster.  I taped and wrote everything out, and had photos developed to include on the poster. It turned out pretty cute:

Next, he was the first one in the class to take the "All About Me" bag home.  His homework was to include up to 5 items to take to school and share with the class so that they could learn about him.  Did he want my suggestions or help? Of course not. Mr. Independent chose his items all on his own...

1. A monster truck. Because, well, because he likes trucks. And trains. And other very boyish toys.
2. A winter hat because he likes to play in the snow.
3. A photo book from his 4th year of life made by the one and only Aunt Kaka. This was a good choice: he said he included it because it had pictures of a lot of fun things he has done.
4. His ceramic camo guitar bank. I thought it was because he wanted to share that he painted it with his Baca and mom, and that his Uncle Hunter was in the Army. Nope. He said, "because I like to play the guitar really loud and yell Rock 'N Roll!"  Help me.
5. He had a crazy pen because he "likes to color." We all know this isn't true, so I finally convinced him to take that out. He ended up taking Dragon Puppy, his stuffed puppy dog toy.

He is truly the one and only Cole, and now you know all about him!

  2. Hannah came home from church yesterday with that exact "about me" chart. Only, she's 2 so there were some scribbles on it and none of the info was filled in. Not real sure why they chose that for a 2 year old activity. How does she know what she wants to be when she grows up? I'm pretty sure she thinks she'll never grow up :)
