Tate is in Mrs. Newman's class this year. She has been at BH for three years (and has been a teacher for 20+), but she is "new" since Cole was in Kinder. She has a reputation for being strict, but also being the most amazing educator and reading instructor. AND.... drum roll please... my friend Shana Ouzts (Steele & Dylan's mom) is the Aide in Mrs. Newman's class. Shana will keep the class lively, and can keep a special eye on Tate for me. We know A LOT of the kids in his class, and they are some of the most precious students with the most involved parents. It's going to be a good Kindergarten year.

Cole is in Mrs. Ponce's class this year, away from every single one of his best friends, but with a great teacher! Mrs. Ponce is the Speech Meet Coordinator and Speech Team Director for the Lower School, so we know her well. Cole has made the Speech Team for two years, and I helped judge the District competition last year. She is great, she knows Cole, and she's already asked me for help in the class. ;)
Braxton, Breckin, Jett, Dylan, Cam, Zack, and Terry... are ALL together in the other Fourth Grade class. Cole was disappointed, but even he said it would be "really crazy" if he were in there with the rest of that crew. HA! There is one new boy in his class this year, and he is glad to be back with friends Beck, Garrett, and Landon. Mrs. Ponce has the reputation as being the kids' favorite Lower School teacher, and I have a feeling she will be end up being Cole's fave, too.
We started the day off with our annual Back to School Breakfast, and I put little fun lunchbox notes in for today.
Both boys (and moms) called today a SUCCSESS!
I am thankful the boys learn in a wonderful environment, with super classmates, and the best teachers around. I am also really thankful for carpool so I don't have to make 10+ round-trips to Bullard every week. ;)
I was happy to get the kids up, ready, fed, and out the door on time today (by myself!) in the POURING rain. I enjoyed lattes and then lunch with my friend Mama D after drop-off. Moms deserve a little surprise on the first day of school, too. ;)
