The Puppy Pack

Today is the annual Brook Hill Invention Convention. Third Graders have to come up with a useful invention, build it, design a presentation board, and give a presentation.  Each invention is judged by a panel and the top three earn cash money.

Cole designed the "Puppy Pack."

The Puppy Pack provides a place to store a small water bottle, dog treats, etc., and comes with its own removable tennis ball attached to the end of an arm.  The dog wears the Puppy Pack, and this makes walks and trips to the park easier on the dog's owner.

So maybe it's not a winning invention, but we win for cutest models! ;)

In other news, we've been BUSY. Okay, no news flash there.  We did get in a short break last weekend in between baseball games, a soccer game, and double birthday parties to jump in the pool for the first time this season.

Poor Tater has a ruptured ear drum AGAIN, so he couldn't get underwater. We are headed to the ENT on Monday to schedule another surgery.  Boooo!

We also hosted a sleepover for Tate with his friend, Hetcher.  Tate has slept over at friends' houses countless times before, but this was Hetcher's first night away from family.  He might need to wait a little while before doing that again.  Sweet boy was homesick a lot of the time, but the boys did have fun at the trampoline park and playing at the house on Friday afternoon.

Two weeks ago was a jam-packed day, as well.  Pre-K Round-Up Day for Tate, and Cadet Singers Local Tour Day for Cole. This was a day when I needed a clone.  I stayed at BH to paint the chubby little cheeks of Pre-K kids and had to miss going with Cole and the Cadet Singers choir to local assisted living facilities, where the kids sang and then visited with residents.

No slowing down this weekend for our crew. After Invention Convention this morning, we have to help set up for the annual Brook Hill Auction dinner, then rush to Cole's baseball game this evening, then head over to Relay for Life cancer rally at the local middle school after that,  get up for Tate's last soccer game of the season in the morning, take Cole to another baseball game tomorrow afternoon, head out in our jeans and boots to the Auction and dinner tomorrow night, then get ready for Cole's piano recital Sunday afternoon. I somehow have to manage to bake brownies for the recital and finish a removal for work in between all of this.

O.M.Gosh, I'm ready for summer! This kid is just ready for more baseball.
And with that smile, I am too. :)
