I did not disappear (did you even miss me?), but I may or may have felt like it. I had a short-lived break from blogging because things have been a little crazy. But, you know it's time to blog when you grandmother starts asking for updates. :) When Mamaw requests pictures, Mamaw gets pictures!
I would like to focus on the positive, and thankfully, we have lots to share!
We are still swimming and the water is {finally} cooling off. We had some of our besties over to swim and eat BBQ a couple of weekends ago. These friends are like family, and we love them!
I love this. Tate is catching a football mid-air and sweet Saige is just sitting over to the side cheering on the boys and singing show tunes!
Don't you just want to know what these two are discussing?!
We had a great afternoon, and were flying through the air after dinner...
and having chicken fights.
Last week, Cole auditioned for the Cadet Singers, an "elite" children's choir at his school made up of Third through Fifth Graders. We really weren't sure how the try-out went, but on Friday we found out HE MADE IT! He was veryveryveryvery excited (perhaps because they are taking a trip Six Flags over Texas in the Spring?). The Cadet Singers are award-winning children's choir in North/East Texas, and so we are thrilled he has the opportunity to perform with this group! They compete, but they also do numerous performances, emphasizing on singing at assisted living homes and military functions.
We spent a fairly quiet Labor Day weekend at home. The boys really enjoyed lots of fun on Lake Jacksonville at Steele's fifth birthday. These were most of the cuties out on the lake for Labor Day Birthday fun!
Cole is becoming an excellent kneeboarder, and loves water sports.
Tate - our amazing pool swimmer - not so much ;)
Haha! I asked Mike if they were torturing my sweet baby by pulling him on the tube too fast!! ;) Mike and the boys were out at the Durretts' lake house on Monday for more lake fun. This is Von, Tate, Cole, and Braxton.
Cole kneeboarded again and Mike surfed behind the boat. I missed the fun this time :(
We are back in the grind this short week trying to cram in school work, Tate's first week back in speech, extra tests for Cole, Mike being out of town, and lots going on with me. Thankfully, Tate is LOVING school and his teacher sends me photos and updates.
Tater and his "girlfriend" Scout adopted this baby as part of an activity at school.
Apparently we need to work on writing vowels because he name is not "Tt." His teacher told me he also adopted a baby boy. He named him Spider Man.
Lord help.
He talks about Scout all the time, and is loving playing with her and his other new friends at Brook Hill. We are also thankful he has an old, familiar face in class this year.
Tate and Hetcher in the reading corner.
No, it doesn't get any cuter.
Brook Hill plays at home this week, so will be cheering on the Guard under Friday Night Lights and hopefully catching another game on Saturday.
At some point maybe I'll catch my breath.
