Stop the Presses. Two blog posts in one week! ;)
I wanted to do a fun post on the reveal of Tate's newly re-decorated room.
And... I found zero "before" pictures of his nursery. #momfail
Well, just imagine that this room used to have a toddler bed and was decorated with owls and colors of light blue and green. Baby owls be gone. Welcome to a new room fit for a touchdown AND a home run!
My go-to decorator helper and friend, Kelley, and I came up with this cute and more grown-up room for Tate. He and Cole have been sharing Cole's room, but it was time to move Tate back to his old room and give Cole his own space.
I LOVE the way the room turned out. I wanted to do a little bit of a vintage sports theme, but nothing over-the-top. I also wanted to keep the dark khaki wall color. These photos were taken with my cell phone, so they aren't the best quality. I was just too tired to get out the big camera. It's been that kind of week.
The ticking stripe bedding is from Ballard Designs, and I love that the shams have his monogram. Kelley found the headboard at Ross -- I love that it is upholstered, yet still masculine. This is a queen-size bed, which also gives us more sleeping space for company. Mike said he didn't get to sleep in a queen bed until we got married :) We got a great deal on a new memory foam mattress for him at Sam's.
The locker side tables are from Target and the chalkboard score board was a steal on sale at Pottery Barn Kids. It is Tate's favorite part of the room! The cage sconces were from lampsplus.com, and Mike did a great job getting those hung and installing a new ceiling fan.
I moved the vintage Tech football prints from Cole's room. Not to worry, Cole got cool new sailboat artwork and real oars hung on the wall in his room. We also moved the armoire from Cole's room and put Tate's old dresser in the closet. We are searching for the perfect desk to put in the empty space in Cole's room.
My favorite part of the room? These letters that Kayla had painted for Tate when he was born that I spray-painted gold and hung vertically. I picked up the red clock at Target.
Tate has the best room in the house. He says it is because no one else has a scoreboard in their room :) Our little sports nut has been sleeping soundly in his new/old room for the past couple of weeks. Lucky little brother!
Thank you to Kelley for helping me, shopping for and with me, and keeping everything within a decent budget. Happy Tate. Happy Mom.
Turned out so cute!
