Late Summer Happenings

These two little boys have had a GOOD summer. I can't believe it is almost over.

New lunchboxes for the new school year arrived this week. We will find out teachers next week, and then... they start Pre-K and Third Grade. THIRD GRADE.

When Mimi and Papa Jim were here during our Mystery Trip, the took the boys on many adventures. I have a few photos that Mom sent me while we were in Colorado.
At Tiger Creek rescue and preserve..

On the second trip to the Children's Museum in Tyler...

Cole panning for gold.

They also went swimming, to the movies, to the toy store, and more.  We are beyond thankful for Mom and Jim for travelling out East so the boys could spend time with them and so we could enjoy some cool weather.

We are super proud of our almost-Third-Grader for playing a hymn at church on Sunday during offertory before a couple of hundred people.  He amazes me with his braveness and talent.

The August heat has hit, so we are spending our last days before school in the water.

Our little fish can now "dive" off the rock and swim the length of the pool in a single breath.

Today, we took a mid-week heat break and met friends at Splash Kingdom - a waterpark about an hour away.  This was the first time for both boys to be a true waterpark and, no surprise, they said it was AWESOME!

Tate on one of the smaller slides.
Cole rode all of them, and Tate rode all that he was tall enough to ride, and down a double-tube big slide with me.

Tate and Kate: it doesn't get any cuter. And their names rhyme. Did I say it doesn't get any cuter?!

Thanks to Kelley and Kate for coming out with us on Kelley's birthday today, and we can't wait to REALLY celebrate without these cuties this weekend ;)

I am ready for school to start and to get back into a routine, but this has been ONE. AWESOME. SUMMER. One I will not forget.
