This week has been the most jam-packed, busy, crazy week ever for Cole at school. And it's only Wednesday. I share these things just to give you an idea of all we have to do, and for my records. Though, I really am not sure I WANT to remember all of this... :/
Cole's class presented Chapel today. He played the part of a "mean kid" in the skit, and also led the school in the Pledge of Allegiance. He was the cutest one up there!
Jett and Cole: this cracks me up that they are standing the exact same way with their hands in their pockets! That was not part of the staged blocking for the skit - ha!
Tomorrow, he will recite a memorized Bible Verse (and then tell what it means in his own words) for the Class Speech Meet. The top two kids from the class will make it on to the all-school Speech Meet, and the top two from each grade will then make it to the District-wide Speech Meet. Cole made it to District last year, but we know his competition will be tough in his class this year so we just want him to do his best! [Update: he did not make it to the school-wide competition this year, but I guess some other kids need the chance to go... haha! We are really proud of all of these kiddos - such a good group.]
He also has to turn in two projects tomorrow - a 100th day project, and a book report and poster on a famous American. We got the book on Monday...
Thank goodness we did the 100th day project last week (stuffing 100 items [Legos] into a plastic water bottle and then writing clues to help classmates guess the items).
For his big Second Grade project, he will research, write about, give a presentation, and then dress the part of a famous American. He chose Jackie Robinson!

He'll round out the week on Friday with a spelling test, another (different) memory verse, a Bible quiz, and a math test over multiplication of 6s. He has all As so far this Quarter, this week is 100% on his behavior marks, and is working tirelessly.
I'm glad I have four years in between kids because if I had to do Second Grade again next year (or the next), I might choose just send my kids straight on to Law School. I'm not even sure how'll I do this again in four years with Tate.
Signed,
a Very Tired but Very Proud Mom
p.s. We have been pushing homework off until evenings so the boys can enjoy this beautiful weather and so I can not think about this coming windy/rainy weekend when I'll have 30 people in my house for a Super Bowl party. EEK!
