It is good to be Cole Stansberry. Not only did he get a new swimming pool, have swim camp, a trip to Sea World with his Baca, overnight summer camp at Pine Cove, and a half-week in Camp Comfort with his Mimi and Papa Jim, but he returns home tomorrow from a week in Durango, Colorado with grandpa Johnny.
The boys went searching for treasure in Comfort with Papa Jim's metal detector and dug up a "treasure box!"
Mom said the lucky rabbit's foot was Tate's favorite treasure - no surprise for the child who loves animals more than anything!
Mom and the boys had lunch in Boerne one day with Great Mamaw Cass. How cute are they!?!?
Seriously, Tate and Mamaw are two of the happiest people I know. Maybe that is the key to a long, good life: happy 87th birthday to Mamaw this weekend!
The boys got in a short visit with Betsy, the granddaughter of one of my mom's best friends. Cutie Patooties. I'm pretty sure sweet, mild-mannered Betsy was not smiling because she was in shock at the activity level of these two boys!
After Cole's first solo flight ever (!!!), Dad took him throughout the Four Corners area for lots of fun this past week. They went shopping at all the mountain outfitter stores, rode jet skis on Lake Navajo, took a horseback ride to a cave in Durango, and spent a day at the Albuquerque zoo.
And only a grandparent would let an active 7 1/2 year old boy order a giant hot chocolate with extra whipped cream for breakfast...
TWICE!
Little Brother missed Cole terribly this week, but still managed some smiles.
I'm so thankful the boys have such fun and involved grand/great-grandparents who make summer an adventure! I want to come back as one of my kids after I die. ;)
Sign me up to be a Stansberry ;)
ReplyDeleteThey are SO lucky!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! John John & Will are asking if they can be Stansberrys! Can't believe how much Tate is growing! Both so, so handsome! We love you all!
