...to have a mother that is turning 60. And I'm pretty sure she doesn't think she is old enough to have a daughter who is 29. Okay, 31. Dang it - 33. Maybe I am old enough to help my mom celebrate this milestone!
We have spent the last 5 days in Comfort with my mom to help her celebrate her birthday early, and so that Mike could run the San Antonio Half Marathon again this year. Here are some of the things we enjoyed in the Hill Country this weekend....
Watching the deer feed in the morning in the back yard
Hiking Enchanted Rock
Riding on the Mule
Swinging in the trees
Enjoying the beautiful, non-humid weather
Having a Shiner on the back patio
Tossing out deer corn
Driving the Mule
Riding in the Mule with 3 grandparents!
Seeing my grandmother (isn't she beautiful?!)
Enjoying a steak dinner to help Mimi celebrate her birthday
Making wishes
Wearing matching moose pajamas
Helping Mimi open her gifts
Asking Mimi why she is crying if she isn't hurt ;)
Rolling down the hill
Sporting DARLING turkey shirts made by Baca
Here are some of the things we didn't enjoy: the 1.5 hour traffic delay on Mopac in Austin on the way down; sleeping less than 5 hours two nights in a row because a certain cute baby is teething and got a cold; driving back with said cute baby after lack of sleep; driving back with a poor aching husband who ran 13.1 miles in less than 2 hours; and listening to a certain 5 year old ask to stop at "Old McDonald's" every 5 minutes for 6 hours.
Overall, it was a rockin' time in Comfort and we enjoyed our time with our families. It is NEVER long enough. Happy 59th, Mom! ;)
Great pics!!
