Cheesy

Well, it was nice the 4.5 years that it lasted. "What?" you ask...

Keeping Cole from learning about Chuck-E-Cheese, of course.  I have never mentioned that such a place existed. I have sheltered him from even seeing the buildling in Tyler when we happen to drive by it.  But kids will talk. Cole's best friend "B" apparently spilled the beans at school yesterday.  When Mike was putting Cole to bed last night, Cole said that he wanted to go to Chuck-E-Cheese.  Mike asked him how he knew about Chuck-E-Cheese, and Cole said that "B" talks about going there all the time and how wonderful it is.  Cole said he wanted to have his next birthday party there and invite "B" and all his other friends.  Mike knows how much I *love* Up-Chuck-E-Cheese and was so excited to tell me about Cole's request that he nearly tripped over his own feet running down the stairs to our room.

Why am I so dead-set against this place that all children love? Well, the thought of going to a huge, germ-filled restaurant with nasty, cold pizza where there are hundreds of screaming, snotty kids and video games that make loud noises and give tickets for chintzy prizes makes me want to hurl.  Apparently now I'll be hurling on Cole's fifth birthday.

  1. This post cracks me up. My sister's kids have known about chuck e cheese for a while, but they have no idea it serves pizza. She has always said there's no way she's paying for the gross pizza there. They've actually been known to pick up pizza from somewhere else on their way home from chuckys. :)
