Mike is the best dad. Period. He is so patient, kind, and fun.
Mike and Cole got to sneak off to West-Central Texas for the weekend for a Father-Son Dove Hunt.
Not only is Mike the best dad, but here are six more...
We are so blessed to have such amazing friends.
Ryan/Landon, Drew/Braxton, Burton/Dylan, Brad/Breckin, Mike/Cole, Chad/Coen, and Von/Von. The five boys from the left are all in Fourth Grade at Brook Hill together, Coen is in Fifth Grade in J-ville, and Von started Middle School (6th Grade) at BH this year. They are all such good young men.
Cole shot his second dove (first was last year in the LBK), and then his third, fourth, fifth, sixth... you get the picture. They nailed them this hunt! They were able to go on three different hunts at a private ranch in the Coleman/Baird area.
The ranch owners cook meals for the group and made a special cake for the birthday boy this time!
While the big boys were away for the weekend, Tate and I hung out at the lake. It was a total football weekend for us, and though the games didn't quite go our way, the weather did. It was fabulous by the water all weekend.
I am grateful that Drew organized this hunt, and the dads all agreed it will become an annual tradition. What a great way to celebrate #doubledigits !
After family dinner last Wednesday, we opened gifts. Wrapping award goes to Johnny. That is foil. With a bow. :)
Speaking of gifts, thank you to Mimi and Papa Jim for all the camo clothing and gear that outfitted Cole for the Dove Hunt!
How did my firstborn suddenly grow up so much?! Love him to the West Texas horizon and back.
xo,
Linds
