Summer has started off with a BANG!
Here's a little snippet of our last couple of weeks. But "little," I mean short because I need to be writing an appellate brief, but I also need a little brain break. ;)
Cole spent all of last week at Pine Cove's Camp in the City. This is an all-day camp that was held at Brook Hill, but was open to anyone.
He had a BLAST! The weather was rainy for a couple of days, but the camp improvised. Above is Color Clash day and the kids played games inside the gym during the rain. Below is "cabin time," complete with cabins set up indoors :)
Good friends Cole, Breckin, and Zack are on right side of this pic.
At the Closing Ceremony on Friday, Character Awards were given out. Cole really loved his counselor, "Deuces." I highly recommend this day camp, and they offer it all over the South in tons of different locations, usually at local schools or churches.
Two "Enthusiasm" awards in two weeks. I think we all know who you will make an excellent camp counselor himself one day. ;) Next up... the BEST TWO WEEKS of his life at LLYC at the end of July.
Unfortunately, Little Nugget is still too young to attend many of these camps. He hung out with me in my office and in the kitchen getting snacks a lot last week.
We also got in some practice with sight words, art time, and...
T-Ball. Go Durham Bulls! They are 7-1 and in First Place for 5/6 T-Ball with two more weeks in the season still remaining. At this last game, Tate hit two doubles, a single, scored two runs, and got thee RBIs. Kid can hit the ball. We are still working on fielding, and he's been playing right field and second base.
Cole's team is undefeated and in first place for their division.
We finished out the weekend feeling a little puny, but everyone was better and the rain left by Sunday so we enjoyed fresh ceviche for lunch on the boat.
No camps this week, but swimming lessons, more baseball, and lots of work. Looking forward to Fri-YAY and the weekend happenings!
