Golden Boy

Happy Golden Birthday to our delightfully charming, remarkably athletic, fiercely stubborn, amazingly artistic, positively diligent, oftentimes reserved, no-longer-a-baby-but-always-our-baby, Tate.
Little Man turned FIVE on the fifth of January!

He also went back to school after Christmas break on January 5th, so we celebrated with what else but a cake of donuts for the kid with the biggest sweet tooth I know?!

His sweet friends in class sung Happy Birthday and they all enjoyed the morning snack.  The teacher probably not so much. ;)

After fun at school, we came home to... homework, basketball practice for Big Brother, a thrown together spaghetti dinner, and finally... GIFTS

It is difficult to think of anything this child needs or even wants the week after Christmas, but I think the Pumpkin Person I had made (www.budsies.com) from one of his pastel & watercolor masterpieces from Brook Hill Art Academy was a hit! Art comes to life.

Five years of birthdays for Tate O., and this child loves his birthday like no one I know!

We had his party for the first time ever not at home, but at Jumpin' Jacks - a bounce house facility in Tyler.  He invited his entire class, and several other Jacksonville friends.  His cousin came up from Houston for the PAR-TAY, too.

Tate's teacher, Mrs. Haugh, even came to {and played at} the party. Here he is with Mrs. Haugh, Brooks, Daxton, and Hetcher:

Trouble comes in really cute packages (BFFs Tate and Steele)

Mandy, our baker, once again was put to the test when Tate requested a bounce house cake, with a slide, red icing, in chocolate and white flavors. She delivered, and this kid was HAPPY!

Tate was ecstatic to reunite with his "old" friends, Turner and Andrew.  AT&T as dubbed by Andrew's mom - haha! Here Tate is with Saige, Turner, Andrew, and new friend Aiden.

There were over 20 kids at the party, but everyone was running and bouncing all over the place, so we didn't get many good photos, but Tate said he had an awesome day and his favorite part(s) was: "bouncing at Jumpin' Jacks, eating cake, and opening all my presents!"

Thanks to Aunt Kayla and cousin Sawyer for making the trip!!

Big bear cousin hugs before they left this morning after a weekend of playing, bouncing, hot-tubbing, LEGO-building craziness. Not a bad way to celebrate the big 0-5 for the big Tate O!
