Cole-Man's official last day of school is today, and he will celebrate with a class party on Wednesday and Field Day on Thursday. OMGoodness, we have a Third Grader on our hands.
End of Year Class Awards were presented on Friday, and Cole won the Award for being diligent. We are proud of our hard worker. That diligence paid off with all As for the end of year report card!
August and May with Mrs. Brashier
She has been a wonderful teacher, patient and kind to Cole. She wrote to me, "It has been such an honor to have him in my class! I love that boy!"
We know that Cole-Man doesn't always sit still... in fact, he was up and out of his seat and talking during the class awards. I, of course, was shushing him, especially because the grandfather (that I've never met) of a sweet, very shy boy was sitting right behind us. As we were leaving school after the awards, that same grandfather came up to Cole and told him congratulations. Then he told me, "Don't quiet him! Let him talk! I love it - he has much to say. This world has too many followers, and this young man is clearly a leader and needs his voice heard."
There are so many times when older adults can be ugly/passive-aggressive about kids' behavior. I know this all too well raising two active boys. In fact, a woman said something rude to Mike the other day about Tate not listening to his daddy [I wanted to tell her to go jump in a lake, but I didn't.] So, to hear such a nice sentiment from this man about Cole made my day. MADE. MY. DAY.
That verse is perfect for Cole: "Never let the fire in your heart go out."
We had a fun weekend, but we are SICK of the rain. Cole has now missed 3 baseball games and Tate has only played 1 T-ball game all season. More are cancelled tonight because it won't stop raining. We have had Flash Flood warnings almost every day the past three weeks. We got in about 30 minutes without rain Saturday and Sunday, so we hit the pool and played some {shoeless} baseball in the driveway.
This little one has been a stinker lately. Frightful Fours in Full Force.
I am glad that he reserves his temper for Mike and me and doesn't ever get in trouble at school. His teacher thinks he is a perfect angel.
He is.... almost.
We are thankful for both boys, for a wonderful year, and for the start of summer. WHOO HOOO!
Great start to the summer!
