What Summer is All About

Summer is all about: (1) Swimming and Friends; (2) America's Game; and (3) Family Time. We hit up all three this weekend!

First up, a swimming party at the Durretts' house for some of the Brook Hill First, er Second Grade Boys (and families)!

CJ, Breckin, Everett, Daylee Grace, Kate, Steele, Tate, Ellie
Dylan, Landon, Braxton, and Cole

Next up: Texas Rangers v. Cleveland Indians game

No foul balls caught by C-man, but he tried his heart out!

This little player was obsessed with the game. He was SO mad when we left early [in the bottom of the 7th inning  because the Rangers were losing and we wanted to beat the traffic to George Strait's last concert at AT&T Stadium, which is right next to the Ballpark in Arlington].

Saturday night was family time in Downtown Fort Worth.  We stayed at a hotel downtown and walked to a nice dinner at Mi Cocina. It was late and the boys had already had a full weekend, but they were AWESOME during dinner and we enjoyed a great meal.

We then surprised them with a quick block walk up to the new fountain plaza downtown.  They had A. BLAST.

Even Cole-man got soaked in his normal clothes, and if you know him at all... that is a BIG DEAL. This child will rarely stay in a wet bathing suit 10 seconds after he is done swimming. :) They played for almost an hour, and then we had to walk back - with the boys dripping wet - for about 8 blocks.  Tate even walked the entire way. Fabulous Family Time!

Cole took this pic of us in the plaza :)

To round out this amazing weekend, we went on an early college tour :) We visited Mike's alma mater - TCU. We walked around the beautiful campus and visited the bookstore to grab some Frog gear for the boys.

You may notice that Tate is in the same outfit he wore to the Rangers game.  Little Man refused to get dressed in the outfit I packed him (khaki shorts and a t-shirt) because it was not "basketball" [i.e. mesh] shorts and a sports t-shirt.

Melt down in room #832.

Tate won. We decided to pick our battles and not get permanently banned from the hotel.

We made it home this afternoon in time to catch the last half of the Texas Tech game: the Red Raiders are COLLEGE WORLD SERIES bound for the first time! I am so proud!! They will play the winner of the final game tomorrow in the TCU-Pepperdine Super Regional Series.  We really will be a house divided if the Frogs win! #wreckemtech
