Till I'm Old

Pine Cove - Castle Rock 2013

Cole enjoyed this past week at summer day camp at Pine Cove Camp, a "local" but nationally-known Christian camp located outside of Tyler.  He had THE.BEST.TIME.

He was able to ride horses, swim, shoot BB guns, play putt-putt, play "gaga ball", play baseball, sing, dance and learn chants, and more.  He DID NOT participate in the mud-fest one day or swim in the pond (only the pool) because he hates to be dirty.  How did we end up with a boys' boy that hates mud?!?!

Breckin and Cole were in the same group and their friends CJ and Hayden (from Brook Hill) were also there at the same time.  Cole also made a new friend, Jack, that he talked about constantly.

I have the fondest memories from summer camp at Laity Lodge Youth Camp.  Cole will be old enough to attend LLYC in 2 years.  I'll save you the sap, but I'll say that we were thrilled with his experience at Pine Cove.  ;)

At the closing ceremonies today, his counselor presented each camper in the cabin [group] a Character Certificate.  Cole's says, "Cole is patient, making those around him feel at ease.  He is intentional with his time and his actions.  Cole is obedient, following instructions given to him."

Cole and Breckin are so sweet and they LOVED camp.  This afternoon Breckin was sporting his boots and swim gear, and Cole had changed into his tennis shoes after the horseback riding because you know he wasn't wearing the dusty cowboy boots any longer than he absolutely had to :)

Cole told me tonight, "I want to go back to Pine Cove every year until I'm old.  Not 'grandmother-old,' but like old while I'm still a kid."

~as a p.s., Tate had to miss out on the fun and literally cried the entire 45 minute drive home on Monday morning after we dropped off the boys because he was so upset he wasn't with his Bubba. I took Cole, Breckin, and sweet Tater-Bug swimming this afternoon to make up for the rough Monday drop-off~
