Amigos

Coley-Poley (he LOVES when I call him that) had his ninth birthday sleepover last week.  We kept things simple.... just seven boys under the age of 9 in the house for 18 hours and a slumber party. WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?!

For this smile.

(Von joined us later after baseball practice)

There was plenty of swimming in the pool and hot tub going on, plus lots of football, basketball, scooter-riding, LEGO-building, Nerf-gun shooting, and shouting. Lots and lots and lots of shouting.

I didn't really get a good shot of the party favors, but I tied together individual small LEGO sets with a Ring Pop for each boy, and they turned out cute.

Cole received several Star Wars LEGO sets, which were crowd favorites!

They all went to sleep. Eventually. At 1:00 am. WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?!

Mike left for work the next morning, and I was cleaning out LEGOs and chip crumbs from under the couch for a couple of hours. C-Man had a blast, and the boys were all good so I'd call it a sleepover success.

Speaking of friends, Peggy (Baca) came into town this weekend and surprised Cole for his birthday with a new little friend...

meet Bob, Jr., the red-bearded dragon!

We aren't sure where Cole came up with that name, but we all liked it.  Little Lizard, Bob, Jr.

He's been good, and the boys both love him. He likes to hang out in his warm tank and on Cole's shoulder.  He eats lettuce, carrots, and live mealworms.  I'm pretty sure after the sleepover AND a new reptile that I get the best boymom award this month. ;)

Speaking of friends, I got together with My Jville Girls for a birthday brunch a couple of weeks ago.  It is rare that we can ALL be in the same place at once, but it worked this time and we celebrated Natalie, Jill, Destiny, and Ashley's fall birthdays.

We are extending our annual Girls' Trip to Dallas to two nights this year, so I am pumped about our upcoming time together in November. Kelley had our small kitchen luncheon table set so cute, so I have to share...

Mike and I also got a night away in Waco for the wedding of some long-time friends.  So long-time that I used to change the groom's diapers! Ha!

We enjoyed visiting with the Coulters and some other friends, and had fun in Waco.  We left ours at home with Peggy, but we could have ordered up a Crazy Tater at George's Bar in Waco!

Finally, my friend Kelley once again helped me on a decorating project.  We removed the old, dingy curtains from the living and dining rooms. The formal living room is still a work in progress, but we hung new wood rods and new silk taffeta curtains in Robin's Egg blue in the dining room, which matched the trim and wainscoting paint color perfectly. I love how it turned out!

Top is during sunlight and the bottom photo I took at night. It's a more formal, more updated look for the room. I am waiting on one more set of finials, which were on backorder, to finish out the rods.

We feel so blessed lately with our fun and wonderful friends (and family). Cheers!
